Abstract

An online programming portal is an important tool in learning and training programming skills for students of Information Technology. The online programming portal provides teachers and learners with an environment for creating problems, generating test data, programming, and automatically marking tests. Many domestic and foreign universities have achieved great success thanks to digital content development for the Online Programming Portal. One of the challenges for learners is finding problems that match our knowledge and forte in a large database of many different topics on the online programming portal. In this paper, we propose a collaborative filtering recommendation method integrated into the Online Programming Portal to provide a set of suitable problems for each user's programming ability. Experimental results on the Online Programming Portal of the Post & Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) show that the method has significantly improved the results of students' online problem-solving.
